Taiwan Shàng Pǐn Buddha's Hand | Citron Pear Oolong Tea
Buddha's Hand tea is also an ancient tea tree varietal, distinguished by its exceptionally large leaves and a memorable citron fragrance.
The Buddha's Hand tea leaves are substantial, as large as a palm, with thick, plump flesh, making them more challenging to process. Consequently, its cultivation yield is rare. Crafted into a ball shape through medium fermentation, it presents a robust appearance with a sandy green hue, subtly glistening with an oily yellowish-brown. After roasting, the brewed tea presents a bright amber liquor, its aroma rich and serene, smoothly unfolding on the palate to reveal notes of longan fruit, both tart and sweet, with a mellow fragrance lingering in the throat.
Brewing Method:
Hot Brew
1. Place 4 grams of tea into a teapot (cup); adjust the amount according to personal preference for strength.
2. Pour hot water at approximately 80°C into a 120cc teapot (cup).
3. Steep for about 30 seconds before pouring out the tea liquor to enjoy.
4. Can be steeped multiple times.
