"A Nostalgic Study Buddy."
Taiwan's earliest educational history can be traced back to the Shin-kang Bible School during the Dutch colonial period in the 1630s. Later, during the Zheng regime in 1666, the first official school, the Confucius Temple, was built in Tainan, earning it the esteemed title of "The First Academy of Taiwan." The current Western-style education system was only introduced to Taiwan during the Japanese colonial era. Many of us recall doing homework at the dining table as children, and having our own desk was something to be proud of. The modular desk lamp with a duck-shaped head was also a shared memory of education for many born in the 1980s (the "seventh grade" in Taiwan), accompanying us through simple and beautiful childhood days.
