Wenge wood, known for its beautiful and deep grain patterns, is a relatively hard material. This music box is meticulously carved from a single piece of wenge wood, a purely handmade creation. The four tiger-shaped feet at the base add an air of elegance, complemented by a Sankyo 18-note musical movement. Intricate patterns are rendered using a pyrography pen, creating a sense of depth and dimension. This integrated construction method imbues the music box with a unique character, making it a cherished collectible. Each piece is personally handcrafted by the designer, ensuring its one-of-a-kind nature. The surface is treated with a layer of waterproof protective varnish, offering resistance to splashes. For care, simply wipe gently with a damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth. Inspired by the resurgence of retro styles and a personal affection for vintage items, our initial handcrafted products focused on upcycling and transforming existing objects, with woodwork forming the foundation of our craft. After completing each piece, we employed hand-painting techniques to achieve an antique finish. We named our studio "研舊院" (Yan Jiu Yuan), a play on words referencing our spirit of research and preservation of the old, embodying our commitment to continuous exploration. Other auxiliary tools include clamps of various sizes, vernier calipers, rulers, protractors, and the like. After meticulously shaping the items using the aforementioned tools, we imbue their surfaces with unique visual appeal and tactile sensations through hand-painted artistry.
