This mug is created by combining a simple, fine-grained white clay with a smooth, matte white glaze that has a subtle off-white hue. We aimed for a comforting and warm atmosphere with its plump, rounded shape that fits snugly into the palm of your hand. The white cup beautifully showcases the colors of transparent beverages like sencha or black tea. When you cup the mug with both hands, you can feel the warmth of the drink inside. All stages of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand using a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel in our home studio. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, allowing you to appreciate the subtle nuances of handcrafted items. The item you receive will be the same as pictured. The base of the mug has been sanded to minimize scratching your table. We continuously explore new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a variety of ceramic pieces in different colors and shapes. To address this, we apply a water-stopping treatment to all our tableware before shipping, so no initial sealing (medome) is necessary. This treatment requires 2-3 days, which is why our shipping timeframe is set at 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have the water-stopping treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - We strive to ensure product images accurately represent the actual item through careful photography and editing.
