Artist's Background: Charles Darwin, a 19th-century British naturalist, proposed the theory of "natural selection," revolutionizing humanity's understanding of life's competition. From his perspective, survival has never been about a contest of strength, but rather about "finding one's own suitable way." Interpretation: This piece does not emulate a fertile garden. Instead, it deliberately chooses a barren, mineralized landscape. The Dragon Stone offers no nutrients, and water is unstable, making it inhospitable to most plants. Thus, carnivorous plants become the only logical protagonists. Pitcher plants and sundews are not beings that are cared for, but rather actively establish a system—capturing insects with their sticky secretions to supplement what the soil cannot provide. Their posture may appear delicate, but it is exceptionally effective. This is not about predation, but a miniature ecosystem about "establishing oneself under adverse conditions." They thrive in nutrient-poor wetlands where the soil provides little sustenance, solving their survival problem through their specialized structures.
