▎Introduction to the Lishan Tea Region
The Lishan tea region is located in Heping District, Taichung City. The altitude of the Lishan tea area ranges from 1600 to 2600 meters, making it the highest average altitude tea region in Taiwan and a benchmark for high mountain teas. Due to significant temperature differences between day and night, and snowfall in winter, tea leaves in the Lishan area grow slowly. While spring tea in lowland areas can be harvested in early April, Lishan tea is typically harvested 40 to 60 days later. This slow growth results in thicker tea leaf structures and a more mellow taste. The high altitude also imparts a distinct "cold mineral" character to the tea. Furthermore, Lishan is renowned for its high-mountain fruits, and the tea gardens are often interspersed with fruit trees. As the tea grows, it absorbs natural fruit fragrances, giving Lishan tea a unique, natural pear aroma.
【Characteristics】
The tea leaves are plump and emerald green. The liquor is honey-green, rich in pectin, mellow, and smooth, with a sweet aftertaste that lingers upon swallowing.
