Youth is a state of the spirit, and art is the spirit's interpretation.
Youth is not confined to the spectrum of time, nor is it merely visible in outward appearance. Youth is a life attitude, the inexhaustible driving force behind artistic creation. It is because of youth that we can be fearless, rebellious, and exploratory, using a playful spirit and an open mind to create life. In the realm of youth, there are no fixed certainties. This energy, akin to a fearless young bull, is without objective, where all possibilities hold equal allure. Youth is like an endless wellspring of energy; when it transcends into a state of the spirit, it becomes eternally infinite.
The special exhibition "Infinite Youth" is presented by the Asia University Museum of Modern Art, featuring four contemporary Asian artists currently gaining international attention: Dong Chen-Lin, Cai Jia-Wei, Yoshitomo Nara, and Li Hongbo. They interpret infinite youth through their artistic creations. Hailing from different countries—Taiwan, Japan, and mainland China—they utilize diverse mediums such as ceramic plates, metal ceramics, installations, paintings, and paper sculptures. Across various life stages—elderly, middle-aged—they have each crafted personal, beautiful, and boundless expressions of "youth."
