Native to South Africa, it's a rather unique name for this less common member of the "treasure grass" family. Its form closely resembles the "Banquet of Flowing Water" series, featuring fine, short white hairs along the leaf edges. The leaves are succulent and relatively soft, with good translucency. It's considered a "windowed" plant, where the transparent leaf tips have evolved into windows that allow light to penetrate. In horticulture, these are known as "windowed plants." This adaptation helps the plant avoid intense direct sunlight. In its native habitat, the plant often grows partially buried in the soil, with only its transparent leaf tips exposed to absorb sunlight for photosynthesis through these windows.
