The entire plant secretes a latex that can be made into a paste. The bark fiber of the paper mulberry tree has very good ductility. After repeated hammering, the bark can stretch to 4 to 5 times its original width. By changing the number and direction of the tapping, bark cloth with different textures and appearances can be produced.
