The design inspiration for the "One Family Seeks Peace" soft magnetic set originates from the folk protective charm, the "Scissor Talisman." The pattern comprises a ruler, a pair of scissors, a ball, and a vase, symbolizing "One family seeks peace." During temple ceremonies for establishing peace, scissor talismans featuring two pairs of scissors are placed in the east, west, south, north, and central areas of the temple to purify the sacred space and protect the surrounding neighborhood. When all four pieces are combined, they create a pun: "Every family seeks peace." The scissors (剪, pronounced similarly to "jia" or "family" in Minnan dialect), the ball (球, pronounced similarly to "qiu" or "seek"), and the vase (瓶, implying peace) all contribute to this meaning. When placed in a home, the set consists of a ruler, scissors, a ball, and a vase. Beyond the phonetic symbolism, their imagery also carries significant meaning: the ruler represents understanding boundaries and adhering to rules, safeguarding oneself with integrity, and also signifies continuous progress and advancement. The scissors can cut away bad luck and obstacles, averting disasters and resolving difficulties. The vase, bearing the character for peace (安), signifies tranquility and safety, while the round ball extends the meaning of reunion.
