Wood Fired Bronze-Gold Glaze Teapot / Blue Glaze on Lid Knob / Handmade by Xiao Ping Fan - Teapots & Teacups - Pottery

Product Description

This teapot features a bronze-gold glaze, a blend of classical and contemporary aesthetics. It pours smoothly and cuts off cleanly, a rare and fine piece ❤️ I still remember last week, on a rainy day, I was home alone and casually brewed a pot of tea with another teapot of the same design. Listening to the rain, with the aroma of tea filling the air, I felt that although life was simple, it was particularly grounded. A good teapot doesn't just brew tea; it brews a sense of groundedness in life. Capacity: 200cc The pouring and cut-off are effortless, neither rushed nor slow, offering a comfortable fluidity when pouring tea. This is a teapot that can accompany you through life. #TeapotCapacity: Approx. 200cc #RoundAndFullBody #NoDrippingWhenPouring The beauty of life begins with a beautiful teapot. In the 2023 5th Shanghai International Wood Firing Ceramics Competition, both artists from Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio, Chen Shiping and Wang Yufan, had their works selected for excellence awards. Your support is our motivation to continue creating. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341561855_249c0591a6_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341437984_c608c50771_c.jpg 2023 Media Interview: The Lean Startup Journey of Xiao Ping Fan Art https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341329978_bb6984d457_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341561785_f553253a82_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53341329968_8834731df8_c.jpg The works from Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio do not pursue mass production. Each creation possesses a unique concept and design, imbuing the process of pure hand-building or wheel throwing with life. Every piece is one of a kind. Our works are created together by my husband and I, hence the signatures "Ping" or "Fan," and some pieces bear the "Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio" seal. Each is unique!! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567264550_68d52fdae8_b.jpg **1. What is the origin of the works?** We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567015014_0b15931da0_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51565549942_7663197885_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567015039_4c2a9b80e3_c.jpg **2. What is the wood firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are kneaded in different proportions. The creation process is purely hand-built (not on a pottery wheel), slowly taking shape. After basic forming, the lines of the body are refined, then polished to complete the greenware. Once loaded into the kiln, it undergoes a five-day, four-night continuous wood firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the work, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's fire marks flow among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire traces. After five days and four nights of ash and fire marks intertwining, a week of cooling is required to achieve the beautiful form of each piece! Because the kiln atmosphere differs with each wood firing, the ash deposits and fire marks on each piece are never the same, making every work truly unique! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567015104_1eec785177_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567264535_7bd0037e60_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51565533012_fdce6d65a3_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51566346721_2b98f539f8_c.jpg **3. What should guests be aware of?** Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As the works are purely handmade, they will inevitably bear traces of the hand-building process. Minor variations may also occur due to the firing process. Slight irregularities in the rim or minor production scratches are normal and do not affect normal use.
