Taiwan Native Conifers: At the end of the 19th century, European botanists surveyed Taiwan's forest resources and discovered five types of coniferous trees widely distributed across the island. These were all excellent timber species with straight grains, distinctive aromas and colors, and superior material qualities. They were collectively named the [Five Taiwan Native Conifers]: Red Cypress, Yellow Cypress, Taiwania, Chinese Fir, and Taiwan Incense Cedar, all of which are precious native Taiwanese tree species.
