**Red Jade No. 18: Leading the Trend**
__It took forty years after its emergence for No. 18 to be officially recognized as "Red Jade" and ignite the Sun Moon Lake black tea craze.__
Red Jade No. 18 is a hybrid, with Taiwanese mountain tea as its father and a varietal from Burma as its mother. Although it was born in the 1950s, it didn't have the chance to shine until 1999. Upon its official release, Red Jade black tea, with its distinct aroma of mint and cinnamon, became an instant hit.
Red Jade No. 18, with its unique fragrance, evokes strong reactions, especially from first-time tasters—they either absolutely love it or find it an acquired taste.
Therefore, for this selection of Red Jade No. 18, we focused on a mellow and smooth profile. We partnered with an organic transitional tea garden in Lugu and a five-star tea processing facility to create a Red Jade black tea that balances aroma and flavor, offering a comfortable drinking experience with a long-lasting aftertaste. It's recommended for beginners trying No. 18 or for those who prefer a less intense minty aroma.

**Four Black Teas for Beginners**
__Tea Story Travels' Tea Selection__
Driven by the initial aspiration to "make Lugu black tea visible," Tea Story Travels has been collaborating with local small farmers. Through diverse formats such as tea ceremony experiences, handmade activities and workshops, videos, and podcasts, we invite everyone to discover the flavors of local black tea and its century-long development, showcasing the stories each farmer wishes to share through Tea Story.
This year, we've further introduced "Four Black Teas for Beginners," selecting the most beginner-friendly Lugu series black teas for 2024. From the oldest, century-old mountain tea, to the familiar Assam, the distinctive Red Jade, and the Western-favorite Hong Yun, each comes with clear brewing instructions. This allows newcomers to easily enjoy excellent tea at home.
