This tall tokkuri bowl was wheel thrown from my small rooftop studio where I am now writing this description. I look out at the Yamingshan mountains and draw in a breath.
This tokkuri was made from local Taiwanese clay and then a traditional Japanese shino glaze was applied. All my glazes are food-safe.
I attempted to make an unique tokkuri. I impressed a groove down one side to add interest and also to grip as you held it. I hand altered the pouring lip to provide some movement.
I make pottery to hopefully add pleasure to someone's daily life. That is the feeling that motivates me to create functional items out of clay.
Be the owner of a handmade tokkuri from the beautiful island of Taiwan.
