In order to protect the body from direct sunlight and the harsh natural environment with large temperature differences, the entire body of the alpaca is covered with extremely fine hair. This kind of hair is rich in oil, and each hair is hollow like a straw. By trapping warm air in these hollows, it has excellent thermal insulation. Alpaca products are said to be one of the finest natural hairs, with a moist and smooth texture due to its rich oil content and warm and moisturizing properties due to its hollow shape. It is also very durable and wrinkle-resistant. ●Fair trade The man who delivered the product was Feliciano, who lives on the outskirts of Lima, Peru. Feliciano comes from Juliaca, a wool and wool trading center located at an altitude of 3,825 meters above sea level near Lake Titicaca. When I was growing up, knitting was a family business. I learned all about knitting from watching my mother work, and when I was 22, my wife and I moved to Lima where there were a lot of jobs. The suburbs of Lima are filled with bare brown mountains lined with colorful houses. Most of the colorful houses were built by people who came from rural areas looking for work. Feliciano's home and studio are located on a corner of the mountain. Feliciano inherited the wool culture and knitting techniques passed down by alpaca people in the highlands.
