This pencil was originally produced by the Eberhard Faber company from 1934 to 1988. Renowned not only for its elegant design and smooth writing experience but also for being favored by many contemporary renowned writers and artists, it gained significant fame.
-
Today's Blackwing pencils are recreated by Palomino in the USA. It is said that the eraser and graphite core still retain the most classic original formulations, perfectly bringing back this once most glorious pencil.
-
In addition to the classic 602, Palomino has also introduced several models with different graphite lead grades for its enthusiasts. Based on our testing and comparison, the black barrel is approximately 4B, the white barrel is about 2B, the grey 602 is a B, and the natural wood color is HB. Due to the characteristic softness of their leads, each pencil offers excellent depth and intensity.
-
The eraser at the end is another key difference that sets Blackwing apart from ordinary pencils. It utilizes a ferrule to hold the eraser, allowing the worn eraser to be pushed further out and also offering the ability to replace it. This ensures the pencil always retains its writing and correcting functions.
