Central Europe Poland is rich in coal, so the replenishment of coal on this map is greater than in the base game, which lowers the cost of coal-fired power plants. Due to political ideologies, Poland and Austria do not use nuclear power. Therefore, players must build a substation in at least one of the three countries outside of Poland and Austria to participate in the bidding and purchase of nuclear power plants. Additionally, the city of Vienna generates all its power from garbage. Other countries often pay them to process their waste, so players with a substation in Vienna save 1 Electro-Mega-Credit (money) for every unit of garbage they purchase. Benelux The Benelux countries strongly support renewable energy. Therefore, under specific circumstances, the rules allow additional renewable energy plants to enter the actual market early. Unlike Central Europe, oil is more readily available in these three countries, while coal is harder to obtain. Due to the close proximity of cities, the average network cost on this map is lower, allowing players to build substations faster, thus shortening the game time.
