This design feature preserves the characteristics of the antique original, which was primarily used for carrying ammunition and weapons over a century ago. Imagine a hunter traversing the forest; this design reflects that practical need. A pocket is integrated on the side that rests against the body, perfect for storing a mobile phone or a small wallet. The shoulder strap includes a padded shoulder rest for comfort and is adjustable in length. The entire shoulder strap can also be detached. From a leathercraft perspective, humans have employed various techniques for working with leather since ancient times. As most leather is a byproduct of meat production, it has been an almost inevitable material in daily life. Its exceptional practicality and durability have made leather indispensable throughout human civilization. At the HEYOU studio, we primarily use "vegetable-tanned leather." As the name suggests, vegetable tanning involves using tanning agents derived from plant extracts (such as roots, stems, and leaves). After the animal hide is de-haired and processed, it is immersed in the tanning solution to become leather. This traditional tanning method, with its long history, results in a finished product that is firm, robust, possesses a natural aroma, and is carveable when dry. It also has a degree of stretch and moldability when wet. The versatility of vegetable-tanned leather ensures its continued widespread use today, and its practicality and durability in everyday applications are unquestionable. Vegetable-tanned leather also has the following characteristics: l Develops Character Over Time: As leather ages, its color typically becomes more saturated and develops a richer sheen. This process makes each vegetable-tanned leather product a reflection of the owner's daily life, with each passing day adding to its uniqueness.
