Plant characteristics
Moroccan rose (Rosa centifolia), also known as May rose, heart-wrapped rose and Provence rose, is a hundred-petal rose variety bred by Dutch breeders in the 17th and 18th centuries. Its petals are full and stacked, and are widely depicted in European still life paintings.
Hydrosol properties
Moroccan rose hydrosol is extracted from fresh petals by low-temperature distillation. It is undiluted and does not contain any alcohol, preservatives or emulsifiers, retaining plant cell water and trace aromatic molecules. The concentration is 3 to 5 times that of general commercially hydrosol. It is pure and gentle, suitable for daily care of sensitive skin, infants, young children and the elderly.
