We aimed to capture its distinctive silver livery through a new material that evokes a metallic sheen. While metal embodies efficiency and urban style, the design's charming smiling face adds a touch of warmth and thoughtfulness beneath its disciplined structure. The EMU900 commuter electric multiple unit train was a collaboration between South Korea's Rotem and the industrial design team at MBD Technologies, who also designed the French TGV. Inspired by "A Smiling Welcome," its exterior features a silver, streamlined body paired with a glossy black mirror finish. The modern front end, accented with a green belt that outlines a smile, continues Taiwan Railways' signature smiling design, hoping to greet every passenger with a smile each time the train arrives at the station.
