**Traditional Eastern Scenting Technique - Only the Fragrance is Heard, Not the Flowers Seen**
"Scenting" is a tea-making craft that infuses tea leaves with natural floral aromas. Flowers and tea are layered together, and as time flows, the tea leaves absorb the floral fragrance, ultimately presenting a uniquely flavored fine tea. Western floral teas, on the other hand, are made by blending all ingredients together for brewing.
The scenting process involves mixing tea leaves with freshly picked flowers. Through capillary action, the tea leaves absorb the floral fragrance. The Ming Dynasty text "Cha Pu" records that any fragrant flower can be used for scenting. When flowers are in full bloom, a bamboo cage lined with paper is divided into two layers. Tea is placed in the upper layer and flowers in the lower. This process is repeated several times, allowing the tea leaves to absorb the floral aroma. After completion, the flowers are removed, leaving only the tea leaves, thus creating floral tea.
