The exact motivation behind the founders eventually naming their jewelry "Monet" remains unclear. Perhaps they admired the works of Impressionist painters like Edouard Manet and Claude Monet. The Chernow brothers' brand, Monet Jewelry, made its debut in 1937. The brand is renowned not only for its particular affinity for "vintage" style. With the help of Monet's masters, several revolutionary inventions related to the technical aspects of fashion jewelry were developed, many of which were patented. For instance, they developed pierced earrings, which eventually replaced clip-on styles. Additionally, Monet created new types of clasps for their traditional earrings.
