Kalocsa embroidery (Kalocsai hímzés) is a traditional embroidery spread in the Kalocsa region of southern Hungary. Colorful embroidery threads are used to embroider flowers, such as roses and violets, or agricultural crops such as bell peppers, a specialty of Calochon, onto the fabric. Traditional Kalocsa embroidery does not use an embroidery frame, because most of the patterns use ※Satin stitch, which is characterized by a slight three-dimensional effect.
