|░ Why We Love Jadeite ░|
Jade nourishes the body for three years; jade nourishes a person for a lifetime.
Crystals possess a powerful energy field but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, has a gentle and mild nature. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's intrinsic energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is Sodium Aluminum Silicate (NaAI[Si2O6]), often containing trace elements such as Calcium (Ca), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Magnesium (Mg), and Iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily found in bones and teeth, with its presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily functions, playing a crucial role throughout life stages, from youth to adulthood and old age. It is an indispensable macromineral essential for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is crucial for maintaining normal physiological functions, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and aiding in blood sugar regulation. The body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, it can enhance insulin sensitivity. For those who are overweight, it helps manage cholesterol and blood sugar. Chromium is depleted faster under high stress, making it particularly important for these individuals.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically have 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, and unabsorbed nickel is mostly excreted in feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another class of trace elements that protect the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macromineral essential for the body. Like calcium, magnesium is vital for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal neuromuscular function, with both elements having a complementary effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation in the body, linked to the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Some studies suggest that individuals who drink hard water, with relatively high calcium and magnesium content, have lower cardiovascular mortality rates. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it an essential trace element. Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron for proper functioning.
Medical research suggests that jadeite possesses potent therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Relieving Chest Tightness: For individuals with weaker constitutions, chest tightness can sometimes occur. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help alleviate this common symptom. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, and through continuous massage, it can achieve a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to "clear middle-Jiao heat, moisturize the heart and lungs, nourish hair, benefit the five organs, calm the spirit, clear blood vessels, and sharpen the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the harmonious balance of physiological functions of the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite jewelry, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, comes into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite enter the body, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Down: The inherent coolness of jadeite offers a soothing and cooling sensation. In the Tang Dynasty, during summers, Yang Guifei would place jade in her mouth to cool down. Since then, summers have become refreshingly cool. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used for their cooling effects.
The above are evidence-based reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less tangible reason, is its purported ability to soothe the mind and offer comfort during times of low mood or stress, as if offering solace.
