**🔸 Silver-inlaid (plated 18K) jadeite should be avoided as much as possible 🔸**
Many silver-inlaid jadeite jewelry pieces commonly seen on the market are made from jadeite of low value. Some even have reflective paper added to the back of the jadeite to make it appear more icy, or colored paper is pressed onto it to alter its original hue, making the color appear rich and vibrant. Additionally, some pieces are made from extremely thin jadeite, such as the back of cabochons being hollowed out to create a more translucent effect. Most of these silver-inlaid jadeite pieces are mass-produced. Logically, truly high-quality jadeite would not be set in silver, and the craftsmanship of silver inlay is generally rough. For beginners, it is even less advisable to purchase these "high-end appearance, low-value substance" products. Even professional collectors would not use them for themselves, unless simply for casual wear.

**🔸 Jadeite with "Master Certificates" is not recommended 🔸**
Approximately 99% of "Master Certificates" on the market are forged. The cost for a genuine master carver to create a jadeite piece often starts from over ten thousand Hong Kong dollars (approximately 40,000 New Taiwan Dollars). If the carving fee alone is so high, it is impossible for low-priced jadeite pieces to come from a master's hand.

**🔸 Be cautious with items not clearly labeled as "Guatemalan Jadeite" 🔸**
The cost difference between Guatemalan jadeite and Burmese jadeite is substantial. Therefore, many sellers will not mark it in a prominent location, simply referring to it as "jadeite" to sell it at a higher price to those unfamiliar with the market. More honest sellers will clearly state that the item is Guatemalan jadeite from the outset. Of course, Guatemalan jadeite itself is a worthy item to purchase, and the editor personally likes it very much, but its price positioning and origin must be public and transparent.

**🔸 Items from live streams featuring a "Master Carver" are not recommended 🔸**
Those who claim to be master carvers or industry experts in live streams are, in most cases, not genuine masters or industry experts. True masters usually have their own studios, are busy with work, and charge high fees, making it unlikely for them to spend time selling jadeite in live streams. The so-called "masters" in live streams are often just the owners playing a role.

**🔸 Do not purchase jadeite from live streams on the Myanmar border 🔸**
Some streamers broadcast from the Myanmar border and sell seemingly low-priced jadeite. Many local sellers bring jadeite that has been treated with dyes and polishing powder coloring to their live streams. As long as a sale can be made, the streamer often doesn't pay much attention to whether the jadeite is natural in color or has been treated. As long as the forgery isn't too obvious, they will sell it to buyers seeking a bargain. In recent years, there has been a surge in scams directly selling fake jadeite, with various methods flooding social media platforms. Firstly, buyers often find it difficult to distinguish authenticity after receiving the goods; secondly, even if problems are discovered, there is usually no recourse.

**🔸 Do not purchase jadeite that appears "very green, very beautiful" but is priced too low 🔸**
These items are most common in live streams: vividly green, brilliantly purple, and as transparent as ice-type jadeite, but sold at a very low price, claiming to be "original source goods." However, a moment's thought reveals that sellers cannot possibly sell high-quality jadeite at extremely low prices. Jadeite has its own market value, and a price that is too low inevitably indicates a problem. These items are mostly highly deceptive fakes, without exception.

**🔸 Bright red jadeite is 99.99% heat-treated 🔸**
The red color in red jadeite comes from iron elements within the stone, so natural red jadeite usually appears brownish or reddish-brown, and is often only a very thin layer. The probability of natural jadeite appearing "bright red" is extremely low, so most bright red jadeite on the market has been heat-treated. It is worth noting that heat-treated jadeite is still classified as natural Grade A in appraisals, so many merchants do not proactively disclose that it has undergone heat treatment. In multi-gemstone bracelets, if only a small amount (e.g., 2–3 beads) of heat-treated red jadeite is used as an accent, it is acceptable and reasonable; however, it is not recommended for pendants or main pieces. If the merchant does not proactively disclose this, it indicates questionable integrity.

🔸 Jadeite with a bright yellow exterior and a white core is often heat-treated 🔸
Certain jadeite carvings commonly seen on the market have an outer layer that is lemon yellow or bright yellow, and this color is only superficial. After removing the outer layer, the interior is white jadeite. The appearance is like "a yellow-coated egg, revealing white albumen when peeled." This phenomenon of "gold coating silver" is also known as "golden coating silver." These jadeite pieces are still classified as natural Grade A in appraisals, but whether they have been heat-treated is very difficult to determine, and inexperienced buyers often struggle to identify them.

**🔸 Many sellers exaggerate the '種水' (quality/clarity) grade of jadeite 🔸**
This is an extremely common phenomenon in the market. To close a sale, some merchants will deliberately enhance the '種水' descriptions of their products, for example:
* Glutinous variety is called glutinous ice
* Glutinous ice is called ice type
* Ice type is called high ice type
In reality, jadeite that truly reaches the "true ice type" is already quite rare. Buyers should remain vigilant and avoid being misled by exaggerated descriptions.

**🔸 Bracelets strung with colored cords are not recommended 🔸**
For example, purple bracelets with purple cords, green bracelets with green cords, etc. Because jadeite is semi-translucent, the color of the cord will show through the bead, making the jadeite appear more purple or greener, causing visual distortion. Therefore, when selecting bracelets, it is recommended to choose neutral-colored or non-color-influencing cords.
**🔸 Do not gamble on rough stones 🔸**
As the saying goes: "Ten gambles, nine deceptions." Gambling on rough stones carries extremely high risks, and most people cannot profit from it, so it is not recommended.
