It is found in the upper reaches of the Laonao River in Toyotama Village, Shoufeng Township, Hualien County. In the 1960s, the development and utilization of Toyotama Jade flourished, not only establishing Taiwan's gemstone processing technology and foundation but also earning significant foreign exchange for the country.
