If you are concerned about the current condition of the plant, feel free to message the designer for photos. 🔥🔥🔥 Blue Moon, *Senecio antandroi*, was originally known as "Green Spearhead" or "Sky Spearhead" (with "spearhead" pronounced similarly to "plan"). It belongs to the *Senecio* genus within the Asteraceae family. These succulents are typically herbaceous, sub-shrubby, or shrubby plants, with over twelve hundred species documented globally, found in various regions. Blue Moon features slender, curved leaves that taper to a point, resembling a crescent moon, hence its name. Under ample sunlight, the leaves exhibit a subtle translucence. While similar in appearance to Blue Spruce, Blue Moon's leaves are more elongated. Its linear leaves grow in clusters along the stem, ranging in color from green to blue, and are covered with a fine layer of white farina. The plant displays transparent vertical stripes on its leaves, and the stems grow upright. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice faint lines on the leaves of the Sky Spearhead, which are actually transparent "windows" that increase light absorption. Like String of Pearls, Curio rowleyanus, and other succulents, Sky Spearhead also has these translucent "windows" to enhance its ability to absorb light. Spring and autumn mark the active growing seasons for Blue Moon, thriving in temperatures between 10-25°C. It will continue to grow even during warmer winter days. Thanks to its robust root system, Blue Moon grows faster than many other succulents. When potting, it's recommended to use a larger and deeper pot to provide ample space for its base, encouraging the growth of more offshoots. If the plant is dehydrated or in its dormant phase, its leaves will close. A well-cared-for Blue Moon will display beautiful, deep blue foliage when it's in its prime. Similar to Blue Spruce, Blue Moon has a thick and developed root system. During summer, it should be placed in a cool, shaded area with adequate watering, as long as good ventilation is maintained. This generally prevents pests and diseases, making it a truly easy-to-care-for and resilient succulent. | Light | Blue Moon is a hardy plant that thrives in sunlight, with upright stems. During spring and autumn, provide ample sunlight. In summer, partial shade is recommended, but ensure it still receives some light to prevent etiolation; reduce watering slightly during this period. | Watering | Sky Spearhead is a succulent that is particularly fond of water; it doesn't stop losing moisture just because the weather is overcast, thus requiring a bit more water. When the leaves appear shriveled and sunken due to lack of water, it's time to water. It's quite uncommon for it to become leggy from overwatering, making it a very well-behaved and easy succulent to manage. Once fully hydrated, the leaves become plump and rounded, which is incredibly charming! You can water it every two days, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. It can be grown outdoors, with protection from rain during the rainy season. If the soil remains consistently damp during summer, the stems near the base may rot. | Propagation | Propagation is typically done through stem cuttings. As most succulents in the *Senecio* genus cannot be propagated from leaf cuttings, those interested can try, but shouldn't hold out too much hope. | Flowering | Blue Moon blooms in the summer.
