【**Halfday Tea Institute**】
Through slow nurturing and precisely controlled fire, we convey the brand's philosophy of " **A Halfday's Slow Journey **." The term "halfday" is inspired by the Tang Dynasty poet Li She's poem "Climbing a Mountain," which reflects on finding a moment of tranquility amidst the impermanence of worldly affairs. "Baking tea" refers to the process of roasting tea leaves over fire, which suppresses bitterness and astringency, enhances the tea's aroma, and improves its sweet aftertaste.

Lugu Township in Nantou is named after Dongding Mountain, situated beside Qilin Pond. Its spring-like climate, cool temperatures, and persistent mists create a superb environment for tea cultivation. This **"Concubine Oolong," also known as "Honey Fragrance Tea" or "Mealybug Tea," is an oolong tea crafted from tea leaves affected by the Oriental Mealybug**. It possesses the characteristic "mealybug aroma" and, through high fermentation and roasting, the leaves are imbued with natural honey and floral-fruit fragrances.
Upon their first taste of this tea, the tea masters were filled with admiration, unanimously agreeing that this tea was exceptional and that missing this opportunity would mean an unknown wait to taste such a delicious tea again.
The tea leaves, kissed by the Oriental Mealybug, naturally carry a fresh honeyed fragrance. Upon tasting, a profusion of floral notes unfolds – distinct from the delicate white floral notes of light fermentation, these are the sweet, rosy hues of pink-hued blossoms. Combined with Lugu's renowned fermentation and roasting techniques, this fully aromatic Concubine Oolong offers an exceptionally smooth and sweet palate. The lingering finish is a delightful interplay of floral, honeyed, and sweet notes that dance repeatedly on the tongue, providing satisfaction from the first sip to the last.
**Loose Leaf Series**
Brewing Gongfu tea offers a ritualistic experience, where the enjoyment unfolds through the selection of tea and teaware, the amount of tea used, water temperature control, and timing. During the brewing process, one can savor the slowly unfolding tea aroma. Brewing in a small teapot and serving in small cups allows for appreciating the aroma at the bottom of the cup while tasting the evolving flavors of the tea liquor.
Teapot Brewing Method
1. After boiling water, pour it into the teapot to warm it. Fill halfway and discard after about 30 seconds, then pour into a tea pitcher to warm it.
2. Add tea leaves, filling about 1/3 to 1/2 the height of the teapot. Cover with the lid, wait for 5 seconds, and then open to smell the "pre-brew aroma."
3. Pour 95°C-100°C hot water gently until the pot is nine-tenths full. Cover with the lid. For the first infusion, pour into the tea pitcher after about 45 seconds. For the second infusion, about 30 seconds. For the third to fifth infusions, increase the steeping time by 30 seconds each.
4. Adjust the amount of tea leaves and steeping time according to personal preference.
Cup Brewing Method
1. Rinse the inside of the cup with hot water to maintain the temperature for brewing.
2. Spread the spherical tea leaves in the tea strainer, about 1 to 1.5 cm high.
3. Recommended water temperature is 95°C-100°C. Pour hot water gently.
4. Once the tea leaves have colored the water, it is ready to drink.
5. Adjust the amount of tea leaves and steeping time according to personal preference.
