【Flavor Series】Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea(Eastern Beauty, Bai Hao, Silver Tip) - Tea - Fresh Ingredients

Product Description

Oriental beauty tea, which is similar to honey-scented black tea (https://en.pinkoi.com/product/vQ4nUfkf?ref=seller-tool) in that they're both teas with a flowery bouquet. Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea is also known as Eastern Beauty, Bai Hao, Silver Tip Oolong, or Champagne oolong. It is one of the most famous oolongs from Taiwan. It's famous after Queen Elizabeth II tasted it, she loved its beautiful tea leaves and unforgettable taste and give the tea its name Oriental Beauty Tea. The ultimate key of its distinctive flavor is that: The buds are bitten by the Jacobiasca Formosana (one kind of insect that lives in tea farms) and then the oolong will have a unique sweet taste. Jacobiasca formosana is important in the production of Taiwan's Oriental beauty tea. The tea, which is an oolong tea with a flavor likened to ripened fruit and honey, is made from leaves partially eaten by these insects. The insects, which thrive in warmer, pollution-free environments, suck the phloem juices of the tea stems, leaves, and buds, producing monoterpene diol and hotrienol which give the tea its unique flavor. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51126742711_1fb8873bd1_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51127892375_40829b6c4a_b.jpg This is a leafhopper. It's what makes tea honey-scented. And this little guy is munching on tea leaves that will be made into Oriental beauty tea. Legend has it that in the 19th century when the queen of England tried this tea, she said it looks like the silhouette of a beautiful woman when the bud and two leaves expand, and thus named it "Oriental beauty tea."
