Wood-fired 1 Jin Tea Caddy / Tea Canister / Tea Storage Container / Tea Saver / Xiao Ping Fan Handmade - Other - Pottery Khaki

Product Description

The truth is, aesthetic beauty permeates everyday life, especially at the tea ceremony, where the pursuit of beauty harmoniously blends tea, people, and vessels, creating one's own intimate tea space. A glimpse of a tea practitioner's aesthetic can be seen in their tea caddy! This wood-fired tea caddy has been tempered in a kiln at over 1200 degrees Celsius. The fusion of wind, fire, ash, and clay over five days and four nights imbues the piece with far-infrared properties, making it exceptionally suitable for storing tea. This particular caddy holds approximately one jin of tea leaves. This rustic wood-fired tea caddy boasts a unique, beautiful natural ash glaze intertwined with fiery golden patterns! Its earth-toned design seems to evoke a ritualistic connection between humanity and nature. As you open the caddy and pour the tea leaves, an intangible emotion fills the tea ceremony space – this is its most beautiful form! Height: Approx. 16cm Width: Approx. 16cm Capacity: 1 Jin (approx. 600g) The works from Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio are not mass-produced. Each creation possesses a unique concept and design, brought to life through the process of hand-building or wheel-throwing, ensuring that every piece is one-of-a-kind. All our pottery is created by my husband and me, which is why you'll find our mark as "Ping" or "Fan." Larger pieces are stamped with the "Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio" seal. Truly unique! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567264550_68d52fdae8_b.jpg **1. What is the origin of the materials used?** We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51565549867_2d00e9c5fb_b.jpg **2. What is the wood-firing process?** We knead together American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay in various proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-building (not on a pottery wheel) to slowly shape the piece. After the basic form is achieved, the body lines are refined, and the piece is then polished to complete the greenware. Once placed in the kiln, the natural longan and acacia wood fuel is used for a continuous five-day, four-night wood-firing process. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the works, forming the distinctive ash glaze; simultaneously, the kiln's flames flow among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire marks. After five days and four nights of ash and fire patterns intertwining, the pieces require another week to cool down before their beautiful form is revealed! Each piece is truly unique! The high-temperature firing of the traditional wood-firing method imbues the works with far-infrared effects, making them highly suitable for storing tea. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51566330016_d46035182e_b.jpg **3. What should discerning customers be aware of?** The color of the product may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As the pieces are purely handmade, traces of the crafting process will be evident. Minor variations may also occur during the firing process; slight imperfections in the rim or minor production marks are considered normal and do not affect the functionality of the item. Your understanding is greatly appreciated!
