【Lin Yingru】Butterfly's Monologue

This pot has many rare features of wood-fired pots, and is a very rare work for collectors. 1. Konoha Butterfly Teacher Lin Yingru's works are mostly dominated by wood leaves on the pots, and butterflies rarely appear. This belongs to deconstruction and reconstruction, which requires more effort. Butterflies mostly appear in the blue crystal series. Each work is of collection level. The appearance of butterflies is a very rare wood-fired work. 2. Glaze beads These are bubbles produced by the clay during the firing process. In the case of "wood-fired" pottery, these are highly prized by collectors because they have a unique and unpredictable beauty and occur in groups, making them quite rare and a must-have for collectors. 3. Ash tumor The accumulation and melting of fallen ash and natural gray glaze: One of the biggest features of wood-fired pottery is "falling ash". During the long process of wood-fired pottery, the ash produced by the burning of wood will drift with the hot air flow in the kiln and fall on the surface of the pot body. When the temperature in the kiln reaches above 1200°C, the wood ash will begin to melt and combine with the minerals of the clay body of the pot to form layers of "natural gray glaze" of varying depths. There are also some fallen ash nodules on the handle of the pot, which allows the pot to be held more stably when pouring water. 4. Ice cracks The key to the formation of ice cracks is that the glaze layer must be very thick and the cross section of the cracks is oblique. This oblique cross section will produce a special refraction effect under the light, making the cracks look more three-dimensional, like the layered crystal structure after the ice surface breaks. 4. Glaze Tears The glaze of wood-fired pottery is formed by ash glaze, which is also formed by the combination of some minerals in the firewood and the body soil to form a special glaze. This pot has a lot of glaze tears and is very beautiful. It mainly depends on the firing technique. The glaze is kept warm for a long time, giving the glaze enough time to fully melt and flow. 5. Fire marks Because the flame is in direct contact with the fire channel, the temperature will be higher than the surrounding area. This local high temperature difference will cause the sintering degree of the clay on the surface of the blank to be different, and this pot will appear Rose Gold in color.
