Material Descriptions: The majority of our 14k gold-filled pieces use a base of brass, electroplated with a layer of 1/20 14k gold. This is a highly popular and practical material in recent years, known for its ease of care, durability, and long-lasting color. It also offers a more accessible price point compared to solid gold. Solid 14k gold, on the other hand, is crafted entirely from 14k gold, both inside and out, with a gold content of approximately 58.5%. The remaining composition includes silver, iron, or copper. In Taiwan's climate, solid 14k gold requires even less maintenance and exhibits a more refined luster. It's also an excellent option for those with sensitive skin. Specially plated alloy is another material we frequently utilize. Mixandfun carefully selects unplated chains that we personally love and then applies a special electroplating process. This ensures that the color remains vibrant and long-lasting under normal wear conditions. Wearing Precautions: 1. Please wear your accessories after dressing and remove them before changing into loungewear. We advise against wearing them while bathing, visiting hot springs, or swimming, as these activities are best avoided. 2. For earrings, we recommend using the included silicone stoppers to minimize the risk of loss. 3. Given Taiwan's warm and humid climate, if your jewelry will not be worn for an extended period, gently wipe it with a soft cloth before storing it in a sealed bag. 4. For delicate chains, cultivate the habit of fastening the clasp when removing them; this helps prevent tangles. 5. All gold-filled, solid gold, or specially plated alloy pieces will naturally show signs of wear over time. Your understanding is appreciated. 6. A Little Care Tip: If you notice signs of oxidation, don't panic. You can fill a bowl with water, add a pinch of salt, and a small piece of aluminum foil. Submerge your solid gold or sterling silver jewelry for about 10 minutes. Upon removal, it should regain its shine. (Note: Material compositions may vary slightly between brands.) It's often recommended to start with less expensive silver pieces for this method. 7. You can also place solid gold or general alloy jewelry in your palm, dip an old toothbrush in a small amount of toothpaste, and gently brush the piece for about 30 seconds. Rinse with clean water, and it should sparkle again. (Note: Material compositions may vary slightly between brands.) Again, starting with less expensive silver pieces is a good way to test this method. 8. Antiqued or brass jewelry is not commonly used by mixandfun at this time.
