Broken or chipped pottery that is no longer usable is upcycled and transformed into accessories with kintsugi. The concept behind these pieces is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, reimagining them into modern accessories that connect to the future and create new possibilities. Elegant pottery shards, a blend of orange and white, are adorned with three freshwater pearls. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to shine even from the side, adding a touch of sophistication. This work utilizes a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional kintsugi which uses tree sap from the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
