(From "The Pillow Book") — These earrings feature lampwork beads, known as "Hotaru-dama" (or "Tonbo-dama"), meticulously crafted by glass artisans. Each Hotaru-dama bead is handmade, with silver foil and colored glass applied over a black glass base to create a unique, mystical ambiance where colors seem to glow against the darkness. This particular color evokes the image of "Yozakura" (night cherry blossoms), with shades of pink shimmering against the black background. We've named this color "Hanagasumi" (flower mist), inspired by the soft, full bloom of cherry blossoms appearing to fill the Hotaru-dama. The gentle pink hue, neither too sweet nor too subdued, makes them a beautiful choice for a wide range of ages. What makes these beads even more special is that they are glow-in-the-dark. When exposed to light and then viewed in a dark place, they emit a soft green glow. The scattered luminescence, with varying intensities from bead to bead, creates a romantic effect reminiscent of fireflies. The earring findings are charmingly designed with a floral motif, each center adorned with a single cubic zirconia. Crafted with genuine rhodium plating, they are resistant to tarnishing and designed for lasting beauty and wear. *** As Hotaru-dama are handmade, each bead will have slight variations in color and the distribution of glow-in-the-dark material.
