Product Description

BARDUR Ceramics Studio | Gift Box Series Now Available Capture the essence of time with the warmth of handmade craftsmanship. Each teacup is independently fired by artisans, with textures like stardust falling, ensuring no two are exactly alike. The design, featuring a satin lining and a square gift box, adds an elegant touch to the ceramic's texture. This gifting season, choose a gift with warmth, let the feel of the piece become part of your sentiment. 🫖 BARDUR Gift Box Series, officially launched. About Wood Firing 'Wood firing' is a traditional kiln firing method, reaching temperatures above 1200 degrees Celsius using wood. It features 'fire marks' naturally left by the flames on the ceramic body, and the ash naturally falling from the burning wood, resulting in a warm, rich, and varied glaze. This is a realm unattainable by electric or gas kilns. Compared to regular electric and gas kilns, the entire process of wood firing—from loading the kiln, ignition, firing, to cooling—takes approximately 8-10 days. Furthermore, the intense kiln pressure, along with factors like humidity, wood dryness, the speed of stoking the fire, and kiln placement, can all influence the success or failure of a piece, leading to a higher damage rate. Experienced wood-firing artisans consider the kiln's airflow when placing pieces, planning the arrangement based on size, estimating the flame's path, controlling the stoking of wood and charcoal, and managing the firing temperature. Every step requires utmost concentration to achieve a perfect wood-fired piece. Place of Origin: Hualien, Taiwan Notes 1. All pieces are handmade; textures and colors may vary. Computer screen displays may also differ. 2. Surface irregularities, micro-bubbles, variations in glaze thickness, or crackled textures are normal characteristics of handmade items and not defects. 3. Each piece is stamped with the Ming Ya Kiln seal or hand-carved by the artist (Mr. Cai Rong-Zong, Ms. Zhong Xuan-Hui). 4. Before first use, please wash with a sponge, mild detergent, and water. Do not heat directly over an open flame, and avoid extreme temperature changes. Microwave, oven, and electric cooker safe. 5. All items are photographed in kind.
