The "curved stem" in the name of *Cymbidium mosaicum* refers to its stem’s distinctive zigzag growth pattern. The leaves on the flowering stem become smaller, creating a unique appearance of large leaves enfolding smaller ones. It serves as a host plant for the larvae of various butterfly species. Found in the mid-elevation mountainous regions of central and southern Taiwan, as well as in the forests of Orchid Island, its trumpet-shaped flowers, complemented by their gradient pale purple hues, are a captivating sight in the wild.
