RD-C-23-Painter (L)
"Recreating Classic 1920s Painter Pants"
This season, Retrodandy presents these painter pants (also known as artist pants), originally designed by Dickies in the 1920s for painters. Initially crafted from white workwear fabric, they were known for their rugged durability and practical multi-pocket design, earning widespread favor among blue-collar and working-class individuals. Over time, colors like Hickory stripes were added, solidifying their status as a classic vintage workwear style.
The ecru version utilizes organic cotton with visible husks, while the Hickory stripe fabric comes from the renowned Japanese mill, Kaihara. This quality ensures that after washing, the fabric develops a natural fade akin to raw denim, embodying the authentic character of classic workwear. A new addition is RD's proprietary grey herringbone fabric, woven with spun yarn to create a snowflake pattern, exuding a refined vintage aesthetic.
