STUDIO HA SHIN-HYEOK Oriental Landscape Series 500 - Items for Display - Pottery Black

Product Description

[Brand Story] The artist, having grown up surrounded by Korea’s natural landscapes, was deeply moved by the profound presence of mountains and naturally drawn to the tactile allure of clay. As a child, he would gaze at the mountains, lost in thought, and over time, this connection with the earth led him to immerse himself in ceramic art. This journey became the fundamental foundation of his artistic world. His signature "Sansuhwa Series" captures the misty mountain ridges at dawn, expressed through monochromatic ceramic pieces. These works blend traditional forms with layers of "his own time," creating a unique visual narrative. While he primarily employs monotones and natural clay hues, he occasionally incorporates fresh colors like pink and green to reflect the diverse aspects of nature. [Description] In Korea, mountains have always been close—not just as part of the physical landscape but as a deep, abiding presence in my mind. Since childhood, I have often gazed at the mountains, lost in imagination. Over time, I grew increasingly familiar with clay, and it became an inseparable companion in my daily life. This experience profoundly shaped my artistic practice, leading me to naturally express mountains through clay as a medium. The monochrome vessel series I create resembles mountain ridges enveloped in the mist of dawn. These works, built upon traditional forms, are the result of layering "my own time" into each piece. The vessel is one of the most primal forms in human history, embodying the very essence of ceramic art. Through this fundamental shape, I seek to capture and release fleeting moments in a neutral, unprejudiced monochrome palette. My work is an exploration of balance—between fullness and emptiness, an attempt to express the joy of flow that I have come to understand through the meditative rhythm of creation.
