Chinoiserie Diaochan & Lady Yu Hairpin Brooch Vintage Floral Jewelry

This brooch is inspired by the traditional hairpins of "Diaochan" (the "Closed Moon Beauty") or "Lady Yu," two of the legendary beauties from Chinese history. As Diaochan is a fictional character who does not appear in formal historical records, Lady Yu is often counted among the Four Beauties in her place. Therefore, I have combined both of their images into this single design. The round bead on the bottom right represents the moon, while the flower on the top left represents the poppy (known as the "Lady Yu flower"). The piece is elegantly finished with various golden metal parts and dangles. For color, I used a jade-colored dahlia part, beautifully striped blue-green Czech beads, refreshing light blue Czech glass pearls, and Swarovski pearls inspired by jade for the dangling parts. The dangles make a gentle, rustling sound as they sway. Perhaps the hairpins that once adorned the hair of ancient beauties made similar soft sounds with every step they took... The dangling parts are particularly fragile, so please be cautious. Due to the structure, the dangles may occasionally become tangled; please gently untangle them if this happens. In my shop, I usually try to hide the "shower base" (the mesh foundation where parts are attached), but for this series, I have intentionally left it as part of the design. Parts are attached to the base with nylon thread. They may feel slightly mobile, but they are securely fastened. All metal parts are plated. Avoid using polishing cloths with abrasives to prevent damage to the plating. When not in use, storing the piece in a zippered polybag will help maintain its condition and prevent oxidation. Czech beads may have small surface indentations, scratches, or internal bubbles, and each bead may vary slightly in shape and color. Please appreciate these as characteristics of the material.
