These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring kintsugi, upcycled from ceramics created by Fukukikama, a Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki kiln located in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. Broken or chipped pottery that is no longer in use is repurposed and adorned with kintsugi to be reborn as accessories. The concept behind these pieces is to allow people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and create new possibilities. We've paired elegant purple floral pottery fragments with freshwater pearls. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, so the gold accent is visible from the side, adding a touch of sophistication. These pieces are perfect as a focal point for both casual and elegant outfits. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike genuine lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
