These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring kintsugi, upcycled from ceramics created by Fukukikama, a Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki kiln located in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture.
Broken or chipped pottery that is no longer in use is repurposed and adorned with kintsugi to be reborn as accessories.
The concept behind these pieces is to allow people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and create new possibilities.
We've paired elegant purple floral pottery fragments with freshwater pearls.
Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, so the gold accent is visible from the side, adding a touch of sophistication.
These pieces are perfect as a focal point for both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: 15 x 18mm
Metal fittings: Surgical stainless steel earrings (metal fittings cannot be changed)
Weight: Despite being pottery fragments, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
As each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, it makes an ideal gift.
They are also perfect as a present for someone special.
*As these are finished, one-of-a-kind items, we cannot accept requests for changes to the metal fittings or for remakes.
*We will send the item shown in the photo. However, if it has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the photo.
*"Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that mends broken or chipped ceramics using lacquer and gold powder. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike genuine lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
The kintsugi parts use lacquer (a paint made by a manufacturer, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), along with UV resin for reinforcement.
