Residing in Taiwan, they work from a cozy apartment in Taipei, fully immersed in the art of stamp making. Formerly an editor for magazines and books at a publishing house, they now focus exclusively on stamp design. CHAMILGARDEN releases new handmade original stamps seasonally and has published 8 art collections, featuring over 100 stamps. Their published books include "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Using erasers as their primary carving material, each stamp is meticulously carved with deliberate strokes. Stamp designs are often inspired by everyday observations, landscapes and encounters from travels, and cherished interests (incorporating elements like text, flora, geometry, nature, and architecture). These elements are then deconstructed and reassembled, employing intersecting points, lines, and planes, complemented by minimalist primary and secondary lines, foreign text, and everyday symbols to compose the stamp imagery. CHAMILGARDEN enjoys combining stamps and colors, orchestrating solo performances or collaborations among stamps of various sizes, and exploring repetition. Many graphic designs also emerge from snippets of stamp designs, extended through printing and combinations, such as in postcards or washi tape.
