Yves Saint Laurent Silver Crocodile-Embossed Leather Clutch The Rive Gauche line, established by Saint Laurent in 1966, is known for its rare surviving pieces, often featuring stunning designs. (A silk clutch with a tortoiseshell handle from this line was previously offered and was exceptionally beautiful.) This clutch boasts a distinctive metallic silver sheen, achieved through crocodile embossing on cowhide leather. The texture is finely detailed with subtle raised contours, and the leather remains supple and in excellent condition. It's adorned with a gold heart-shaped charm on the zipper pull, likely designed by Robert Goossens, a long-time collaborator with YSL. The interior is lined with a clean, teal fabric, featuring a single compartment and a small pocket, spacious enough for a long wallet and a phone. While the gold-stamped logo shows some fading, it is still clearly visible to the naked eye. Overall, it is exceptionally well-preserved, appearing nearly new with no significant signs of storage.
