It is a petrified shale with nine eyes, having endured billions of years of wind and sand, as if absorbing the essence of the sun, moon, and earth. It is also known as the "Saraswati of the Earth" and is one of the seven treasures of Buddhism. "Alashan" in Mongolian means "colorful." Its Mohs hardness is 6.5-7.8, making it a very easy-to-care-for gemstone. Alashan has been historically used as an amulet and talisman, symbolizing friendship and hope. In terms of its energetic properties, Alashan is said to contain various trace elements beneficial to the human body, so wearing it regularly may promote good health.
