Blackened Ceramic Vase

Stoneware Clay / Slip / Ash Glaze size: Ø4.5 w10 h17.2 cm The slip is formulated with Miaoli clay, and the ash glaze is created by burning plants from the same land, then processing their ash into a natural grey glaze. Plant brushes are made from dried grass, or the slip is applied by hand. The maker enjoys creating pieces that retain the texture and color of the clay, with handmade lines and atmosphere, preserving a pure strength. As pottery is handmade, actual colors and dimensions may vary. Glaze crawling, dripping, or crackling are unique expressions of each piece.
