Wenshan Baozhong originates from the Pinglin mountainous region of Taipei and is made from the "Buddha's Hand" cultivar. The tea leaves are processed with an added roasting step. The resulting liquor boasts not only the fragrant aroma of bergamot but also the warmth of roasting. If you appreciate the fragrance of Tieguanyin, you are sure to enjoy this tea.
【Guīshíjiān Hot Brew Method】
1. Warm the pot: Pour hot water into the teapot (or other brewing vessel) to gently warm it. Discard the water after 30 seconds.
2. Dry Aroma: Place the appropriate amount of tea leaves into the pot (enough to cover the bottom densely; approximately 5 grams per person, adjustable to personal preference). Bring the vessel close to inhale the comforting aroma released by the steam.
3. Warming Rinse:
For ball-shaped oolong leaves, which are tightly rolled, pour 95-100°C hot water into the pot to steep. Immediately pour out the water. This step warms the leaves, aiding their unfurling in subsequent infusions and facilitating better flavor release.
4. Brewing for Tasting: Pour hot water, cover with the lid, and let it steep for approximately 1.5 minutes. Pour the liquor into a fairness pitcher. It is recommended to collect 2-3 infusions in the pitcher to blend the strengths of each brew.
5. For subsequent infusions, increase the steeping time by 15-30 seconds each time.
* A total of 6-7 infusions can be achieved, starting from the warming rinse.
It is recommended to use a clay teapot, as it dissipates heat more slowly, retains warmth better, and provides ample space for the leaves to unfurl.
【Simple Brew for Office Workers】
1. Spread the tea leaves evenly at the bottom of a tea infuser.
2. Hang the infuser in a mug.
3. Head to the pantry, chat with colleagues, and carefully pour about 350cc of 90-95°C hot water.
4. Steep for 2-3 minutes, or until the leaves begin to unfurl and the liquor turns an amber-yellow. Remove the infuser and enjoy.
For subsequent infusions, increase the steeping time by 1 minute each time. This method yields 2-3 infusions.
【Sleepy Cold Brew Method】
1. Combine 5 grams of tea leaves with 500cc of water in a bottle.
2. Place the bottle in the refrigerator and let it steep overnight (approximately 8-10 hours). In the morning, filter out the tea leaves (to avoid bitterness) and enjoy.
