Artist Introduction: Artist: Master Yu-Hua-Yu Born in 1980, his fascination with the mystique of wheel-thrown pottery began during his junior high years. After his military service, he moved to Yingge alone, apprenticing under Masters Wu Guo-Rong and Wu Jian-Cai, which laid a solid foundation for his skills in wheel throwing and firing. After establishing his own studio, he dedicated himself to meticulous research and development. He has received accolades such as the Gold Award for Cultural and Creative Industry Design at the Taiwan Golden Teapot Award and an Excellence Award from the Tainan Cultural and Creative Promotion Association. He is currently a contemporary young Taiwanese ceramic artist. Master Yu-Hua-Yu has spent over two decades mastering the properties of various clays, infusing them with his creative vision to blend tradition with modernity. He has developed the "Shimmering Shino Series," "Rock Mineral Series," and "Purple Clay Cloud and Mist Series" of ceramic works. Furthermore, Master Yu has successfully revived the ancient Song Dynasty celadon firing techniques! His crackled series emulates the Song Dynasty wood-firing methods, undergoing a continuous 5-day, 4-night firing at temperatures exceeding 1260°C. After the firing, natural ash deposit creates the "crackled" Song Dynasty celadon glaze, a truly breathtaking sight.
