Oribe glazed soup cup

White clay has a vivid glaze color and allows you to enjoy the roughness that is characteristic of pottery. Oribe is a traditional Japanese glaze with a striking, calming, deep green color. This soup cup was created by combining these items. As I was lining up the bisque-fired soup cups and choosing a glaze, I decided to try applying a Japanese Oribe glaze to the Western-style soup cups, and so I created this vessel. Oribe glaze has a beautiful luster and a deep, tasteful appearance that can appear bright green or deep green depending on the way the sunlight hits it, the angle, and the color of the light source. Combined with the rough texture of the clay, it creates a flowing pattern, making it a dish that would go well with both Western-style soups and Japanese-style soups made with miso. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and I do all of the processes by hand, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing. Although they cannot be mass-produced, each one has its own unique expression, so you can enjoy their individuality. The item you receive will be the same as the product image. The surface that will come into contact with the table will be sanded before delivery. Using various glazes and clays, I create a wide variety of pottery in different colors and shapes, searching for the best combinations. It is impossible to create two identical pieces, so although they may look similar, each piece is unique. I would be very happy if you could find your favorite.
