Peter had worked in Silicon Valley for 7 years, and was the Senior Engineer Lead of the Social Search Group at Yahoo Global HQ for 4 years. There, he had led the R&D of many products and services, including the development of "Yahoo! Answers." It was during his time in the States that he started frequenting craft fairs. He would visit small design boutiques in San Francisco, and listen to the designers' stories of how they tried to get their designs to the world.
Peter is the CEO and a co-founder of Pinkoi. Having seen how entrepreneurs pursue their dreams and the importance attached to human resources in Silicon Valley, Peter founded Pinkoi with two fellow entrepreneurs. His mission is to put the spotlight on Asia's independent design industry: to create a design ecosystem that promotes "lifestyles with good designs." When Peter’s not cooking up ideas for Pinkoi, he’s cooking delicious meals for his family.

Gazhua means "cockroach" in Taiwanese. He seems pretty normal to outsiders, but is actually a weirdo glued to his computer, thinking and daydreaming. Gazhua likes drawing and photography, but only casually, and dabbles in a bit of writing. He also likes design, but maybe "like" is an understatement. In design as in life, Gazhua believes "less is more."
Gazhua thinks joining Pinkoi's product team in 2012 is the coolest thing that he's done so far!
Chad accidentally stumbled upon app development a few years ago, and hasn't stopped nurturing "apples" since. He is never far from a phone or tablet at work. His old best friend, a bicycle with which he rode across Taiwan, is now neglected in a garage corner. But Chad still stands by his motto: "work hard; play harder!"
Chad oversees Pinkoi's iOS app development, but he occasionally talks to the little green robot. Chad's goal is to make an app that Pinkoi is proud of and—more importantly—that users love.

Zoe is a giraffe fanatic, and has collected over 1,000 giraffe-related items. Exposed to online shopping since she was 13, Zoe "tends" giraffes from around the world without traveling to exotic places. In 2006, she experienced firsthand how liberating but difficult it was to be an independent designer: she lugged around a suitcase containing her own handmade items at a time when craft fairs were still rare. When Zoe graduated, she took a job at Xue Xue Institute Design Lab, acting as a bridge between designers and customers. She spent her days telling stories to customers; she truly believes that there is a story worth telling behind each product's creation.
Zoe joined Pinkoi in 2013 as an Accounts Manager. She scouts the best independent designers and introduces them to Pinkoi.
BSc in Management Science from National Chiao Tung University

Litta's brain is a little strange: her mind's always whirring away, jumping from different ideas. Even when she sleeps, she dreams fervently. When Litta was little, she dreamed of being an astronaut before her mother told her that she would need to work out and be less picky with her food. Luckily she fell in love with stories and storytelling, a less (physically) arduous career path.
Litta is Pinkoi Zine's editor, in charge of compiling and telling the stories behind great designs. She feels lucky that she can work surrounded by beautiful objects and use words to share beauty in life.

Traveling from Tokyo to Hokkaidō, and taking pictures, she finally learned about work–life balance. There, she fell in love with the desserts, and with walking on Japanese roads and taking Japanese public transport. But Tokyo is a big city, and Chaz wants to come back to Taiwan one day, and use her experience and language skills.

Stacey was born and raised in Taipei, but is at heart a country girl from a seaside town. Her horizons have never been restricted by cityscapes, however, as she has traveled widely, staying in places for a little or long while. Although she loves the city's hustle and bustle, deep down Stacey yearns for the rustic, simple, and quiet life. To her, cinema and chili are life necessities, in addition to secondhand philosophies. She gets so excited by secondhand markets that she would forget to breathe!
Upon graduation, Stacey decided to steer from the traditional career paths of her studies. She worked in art administration, helped to arrange an environmental-art exhibition, and fell in love with working in an artistic atmosphere.
Stacey joined Pinkoi in 2014, happy to work in a liberating and lively environment surrounded by pretty things. She hopes that customers can take home good designs and—more importantly—a slice of unpolluted sincerity and warmth!

Jampa (Thai spelling: จำปา) chose this Thai name by accident. In her second year of university, Jampa took a Thai language class for school credits. It turned out to be a Thai tea-making class. But it was during this time that the Thai language became a part of Jampa's life. Bitten, Jampa swapped a trip to see tulips in the Netherlands for a 25-hour concert in Thailand.
Although she studied advertising, Jampa decided to join Pinkoi, managing designer relations with Thai designers. She hopes to show Thai designs to Taiwan and the world from a fresh angle, and to introduce Taiwanese designs to Thailand (there's more to Taiwan than F4!).
BA in Business Administration from National Central University
Fred didn't study information engineering. But on graduation, Fred's dad gave him a job and asked him to learn programming. "There's only one way to find out whether I like it, or can do it!" Fred thought at the time. The first time that a client said "Your programs are so easy to use!" Fred became addicted to programming. He realized that programming can be fun, help people, and solve problems.
Apart from pressing keyboard keys, Fred also loves to press the shutter button. He takes his Lomo camera everywhere, and then spends countless hours in the dark room. Fred joined Pinkoi in December 2014 as a front-end engineer. His job is to communicate with codes daily.

Dejhen has a round face and small eyes; people think she's asleep most of the time. She likes a slow-paced lifestyle: when she's old, she hopes to own a field so that she can plant vegetation and raise cats. With a cool demeanor, Dejhen's mind is actually like an endless showreel of suspense movies; maybe it's because she reads too many thrillers in her spare time. She also likes to watch Japanese dramas, anime, and manga until she's crying and laughing, and attend gigs, jumping up-and-down with the crowd. For outdoor activities, Dejhen likes to go hiking for the fresh air and exercise.
Dejhen studied Chinese at university, but her work has never been related to her major. Her Chinese professor once told her: "You can do anything after studying Chinese." She thinks that this speech had given her a wider perspective and opened up her horizons.
Dejhen joined Pinkoi in March 2015, working in online sales planning.
BA in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong
Born a Virgo, Carol's personality is more like a Leo: for her, not talking is stifling, and not laughing is torture! Carol's hobbies are buying books and traveling to strange places. At university, Carol majored in moving image (minored in psychology). After graduation, she worked as a journalist. When she worked at Weekend HK on the Taiwan thread, she traveled to Taiwan 5 times a year; she searched for design shops hidden in old alleyways. She also worked with JET magazine, interviewing celebrities, and writing about lifestyle and home designs from around the world.
Although she has tried her hand at drawing, calligraphy, photography, carpentry, needlework, knitting, leather dying, soap making, and book binding, Carol never managed to master these skills. So she switched roles, and came to work at Pinkoi as a talent scout. Her job is to unearth designs that are original and thoughtful.

Kate's the office manager with a constant smile on her face. After graduation, Kate went straight into the financial sector. She stayed for 5/6 years, but during that time has often wondered about following her heart and going to explore unchartered territories. The words "start-up" and "teamwork" finally got her to make that change. She's looking forward to working in an environment à la "One Piece" where there is camaraderie and team spirit.
Outside work, Kate likes to organize small trips; nothing is as thrilling as planning, imagining, and realizing a travel experience, except maybe anticipating the next trip! Kate also reads thrillers, visits markets, and participates in all kinds of interesting enterprises.
Kate was promoted from Pinkoi fan to fully fledged staff in March 2015. Her job is to ensure that staff members enjoy working at Pinkoi.
When Migo was little, she studied in different Southeast Asian countries for 12 years. Deep down, however, she had always yearned to go to Japan. After working for some time, she didn't think twice about going to Tokyo for 2 years of study. Her favorite phrase in Japanese is "one time, one meeting" [seize the moment]. When still a student, Migo loved going to inaccessible and non-touristic villages, and exploring with only her backpack and camera. During the day, she took pictures, inquired about the local history and sites, and searched for unique shops in alleyways. At night, she stayed in a guesthouse, and met new friends. Migo also likes to doodle, go to exhibitions and fairs, and play games.
Migo joined Pinkoi in 2015. She can't wait to tell people about Pinkoi!
When Melissa was little, she was a normal girl interested in literature and the arts. Now she's older, she finds her tastes becoming increasingly unconventional. It's hard to reconcile the Melissa that studied engineering with the creative and pragmatic blogger/editor. Melissa has worked briefly in product R&D and strategic planning for a medical technology company. Now she makes a life in San Francisco, working in the domains of design, travel, journalism, translation, research, and filmmaking. Outside work, Melissa plays the piano, writes fiction, and draws. She also likes to try new things such as baking, cocktail mixing, and exercise classes.
Melissa likes to be on the border of different disciplines and cultures, so she's perfect as Pinkoi Zine's English editor; she's looking forward to inventing the perfect Pinkoi cocktail of a globalized product-exchanging culture.
BA in Accounting from National Taiwan University
Connie was trained in the accounting discipline at a Big Four audit firm. Moreover, she once worked in the financial sector, where she was baptised into the world of fluctuating realities. So if she ever had a hipster side, that's probably long gone. Fortunately, Connie still retained her appreciation for finer things. If she gets close enough to designs that speak to her, her tired but restless self would feel replenished again to face new challenges.
Connie hopes to grow with Pinkoi, and for more people to discover good designs!
BA in Library and Information Management from National Taiwan University
Debi is a juxtaposition of two personalities: she loves being a homebody, listening to music, reading manga and fiction, watching TV series, and knitting; she also can be adventurous, and enjoys traveling and backpacking. Something about having a bag weighing down her shoulders keeps her feet on the ground. Debi loves old objects and unique locally produced objects; she always seeks out the secondhand markets wherever she finds herself.
Debi believes that people should strive for things that are worthwhile. Having seen "sunrises" and "sunsets" in the advertising industry, Debi now hopes to introduce Pinkoi to more people: a worthwhile pursuit!
Pegi keeps a drawing diary, summarising each day with rich and diverse colors. She loves dessert. Her favorite pastime is to squander afternoons in coffee shops (even if she ends up doing nothing in particular). Pegi likes to observe her surroundings, then records what she sees in her journal using drawings and photos (plus a line to summarise her thoughts). She shares these on her Facebook Page PG 夫人. Although Pegi is used to city life in Taipei, she still needs mountains and seas in her life. She takes walks when she can, and sometimes throws down everything to travel somewhere. Pegi joined Pinkoi in 2015 as a Pinkoi Zine editor. She hopes to make people fall in love with Pinkoi through the power of words.
BA in Russian Language and Literature from Tamkang University
Lily is not like a Scorpio should be. She used to work at Xue Xue Institute and Su Ho Memorial Paper Museum, telling stories and introducing people to all types of beautiful designs. To push herself, Lily once banished herself to Singapore where she worked in a four-language environment. Moreover, Lily has been running an online flower shop with her mother for 10 years, so she knows well how the e-commerce business has been booming.
At Pinkoi, Lily wants to introduce more designs to people. If good design can enhance life, and technology can simplify life, then Pinkoi provides both under one platform!
BA in Mass Communication from Chiang Mai University
Jikgee (Wanwisa) grew up in the countryside, so she needs no excuse for her love of nature. Her dream is to own her own farm. As she's shy, Jikgee usually wears a smile on her face to get her through awkward moments.
At university, she studied mass communication. Because she liked reading, she learned about the publishing process and was even once the president of the literature research society; nothing gets Jikgee excited like looking at a text's kerning (typesetting)! Being president also meant that she has met a lot of interesting people and events.
Jikgee likes trying out new activities when she can; ironically, this meant that she spent less time reading her major (smile). Because Jikgee liked art and design, she chose to study in Chiang Mai (she heard that the city is a design haven).
Jikgee also loves Japan for their flourishing art and design scene; she once spent a year there, and thinks it was the best year of her life so far. The first time Jikgee came to Taiwan, she found Pinkoi. She thinks that Pinkoi, and its employees, must be the cutest in Taiwan!
BA in Japanese from Fu Jen Catholic University
Evelyn is passionate and a bit crazy! But she can also be fair and friendly. At Evelyn's "Saturn Return," she stepped into the world of Western astrology. Mesmerized by the stars, Evelyn decided to never live without astrology again. Empathetic, she is also a pretty good listener. Sometimes, she alternates from being really hyped up to being so quiet that she seemed to have disappeared from the earth (not too long!).
Evelyn joined Pinkoi in 2015. She can't wait to see what stories she'll write in this chapter of her life.
Nicholas likes observing and listening to people. Regardless of language used or story, he can always dig out some entertaining aspect and even some profound truth embedded within superficiality. As for "creativity," Nicholas hopes to be like a silent sponge: when squeezed, creativity oozes out of him ceaselessly. Having lived in America for 7 years, Nicholas sees the strange and fantastical culture of New York as the ideal. Though he was staggering and finding his way, it was the inspiration he felt in New York that enabled him to find himself again and again.
Nicholas joined Pinkoi in 2015. He works as the photography curator.
BA in Photography from Emily Carr University
Kat used to write, direct, and record online videos. Movies, music, and writing are her passions. When she was in high school, she opened her own online T-shirt shop where she sold original designs. Although the shop didn't make her millions, it gave her happiness and a sense of achievement, which are priceless.
In Pinkoi, Kat noticed an artistic and creative spark; she learned about the online creative industry, and the freedom and opportunities that Taiwan gives to creative individuals. Kat can't wait to see how she can contribute to Pinkoi's innovation and creativity, and share these with Pinkoi fans who enjoy good designs.
BSc in Information Engineering from Tunghai University
Ryan stepped onto the path of website development when he developed the intranet site for his university. He then worked in two app businesses. In his spare time, Ryan works on DIY projects. From assembling computers to welding objects, Ryan loves immersing himself in the process of creating/making something. He prefers reading from paper to reading from a screen, and loves stationery (he has a supply of ink to last a lifetime!).
Ryan joined Pinkoi in 2015, and hopes to improve user experience for Pinkoi members.
Joe's nickname is "Guofu" [the father of the Republic] because as a boy, he looked mature and resembled Sun Yat-sen. Joe's passion is information technology; in high school, he participated in an Open Source club, managed a Unix-Like server, maintained a Bulletin Board System, and developed programs. Without much thought, Joe went to study electrical engineering. But after this detour, he returned to computer science for his master's. Joe spent a brief time in academia, working in natural language processing; he developed several English-learning online tools. He also worked in small enterprises as an IT consultant, installing and designing company websites, servers, and company-specific software.

Joe can also be active, and loves traveling. He hopes to travel the world one day, backpacking without a plan and going with the flow.

Tinnie's hobbies are drawing, traveling, and observing the world around her; she's very inquisitive about new things. Her passion, however, is animals. If possible, her ideal pet would be a polar bear or a lion.

That's how she found Pinkoi, and herself! She's delighted to be a part of the Pinkoi team, helping to promote Taiwanese designs.
Born in Guangdong and raised in London (UK), Jiayi grew up speaking Cantonese at home and English everywhere else. To improve her understanding of French, Jiayi has worked in Francophone countries such as France, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.
Jiayi came to Taiwan in 2015 to improve her understanding of Taiwanese Mandarin. Jiayi's parents were graphic designers, so she grew up with an awareness of art and design. She hopes to use her language skills to help promote Pinkoi as an international brand.

Gale appears tidy and professional in the office, but is a self-confessed couch potato at home. Trained as a biologist, she has cultured many kinds of microorganisms including parasites, though bacteria scare her. Gale also has a creative side: she does amateur photography using her Canon 450D and Sigma 18-35mm, but don't ask her to take selfies. You may also find her going to unfamiliar places with her Muji pen and blue sketchbook on which she records her surroundings in black lined drawings.
Gale hopes that, as Pinkoi's Thai Language Specialist, she can contribute to, and grow with, Pinkoi.
Echo used to work in PR for Groupon Taiwan, where she polished her craft in spoken and written communication. It's quite the challenge to find innovative communication channels in this day and age of everybody being in some sort of "media." Echo describes herself as like an ever exploding universe; she is extremely curious about anything she sees. Sometimes, she finds herself talking to those things, living or not... She was once obsessed with anime and American sitcoms, but nowadays is more interested in new technology, products, and mobile apps.
Echo joined Pinkoi in 2015 as a PR specialist. Although still new to artistic domains, she loves how Pinkoi puts designers and real people at the heart of the business. Her goal is to make Pinkoi a brand that people can't stop talking about!
Jessica loves Bambi, and has probably seen Bambi more times than did Osamu Tezuka. When studying in Japan, Jessica encountered aspects of Japanese culture that provided food for thought. Jessica has worked as a Japanese teacher, interpreter, and translator; as a language facilitator, she finds two-way communication more fulfilling. Outside work, Jessica's interests include nature, music, and vintage objects. Jessica feels that if she can watch anime and chase entertainment news, as well as persist in her search for beauty in people and things, then her life is full.
Jessica is honored to join Pinkoi as Japanese Language Specialist. She hopes to use her skills to share Pinkoi with more people.

When Alice was in kindergarten, she watched cartoons after school. One day she saw Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and became mesmerized by this fantastical world: if only she could also follow the White Rabbit down the hole, have a "mad" tea party with the Hatter, and paint white roses "red" with the playing cards! The next day, Alice introduced herself by her English name to her teacher.
In the real world, however, this Alice grew up and her life became conventional: college, exchange study in America, job after graduation. Eventually, Alice started wondering why she still hasn't found her rabbit hole.
In 2016, Alice decided to jump into Pinkoi and start a new adventure. By helping Pinkoi expand in the Hong Kong and Macau market, she hopes to give everyone a chance to find their own rabbit hole.

It was the years of working with a digital advertising agency that made Remi realize his love for UI design. Having thrown himself into this field, Remi particular likes to observe and speculate user behavior. He thinks that this passion is probably related to his childhood love of reading detective novels.
As a die-hard Chelsea (football club) fan, Remi's daughter is also named Chelsea. Remi plays the bass, and was in a band called The Shine & Shine & Shine & Shine during college. They even released a few EPs and records. Nowadays, Remi plays with Vector The Bike. His cool groove never stops!
Mei-Hua loved reading as a child, so maybe that's why she's fascinated by text and language. In junior high, she took a Visual Basic class and was amazed by how commands can be used to manipulate computers. That's when she decided to make a living out of programming.
In high school, Mei-Hua joined an IT club, where she learned basic algorithms and logic programming. At university, she learned about human–computer interaction, and realized that this was her true passion. At Pinkoi, Mei-Hua works as a Data Scientist. She hopes that she can use her knowledge to provide better user experience for Pinkoi members.

Immediately after graduation, Kris boarded a plane for Taiwan. Believing he’d teach a few years and return to the U.S., Kris unexpectedly fell in love with Taiwan, especially its delicious cuisine. After a year of teaching, Kris took a writing job at AMC Magazine, proving his family wrong, that, in fact, a writing degree was a splendid idea. After three years at AMC, a wild opportunity allowed Kris to transition into marketing, handling Cheetah Mobile’s social media marketing and offline events.
In his five years in Taiwan, Kris has written a business English book, countless articles, and even advertising copy for BenQ and Asus. He is an advocate for all things Made in Taiwan, and so working for a Taiwanese start-up was an obvious choice. He’s proud to be a Pinkoist!
When Kris isn’t working, he’s talking, taking bad selfies, and enjoying the three “B”s: beer, beauty (natural & handmade), and board games. He aspires to design his own board games. In the meantime he’s content helping others bring their games to life: editing rulebooks, play-testing, and “throwing” money into crowdfunding. Kris lives in Taipei with his fiancée and two cats.
