I live in Kyoto city ,Japan.
I have sold my hats at a famous handmade market in Kyoto many times so I might have met some of you there, because there used to be a lot of foreigners from every corner of the world. I enjoyed talking with many people.
Then, let me introduce myself.
I am a hat fitter which is a name that I would like to call myself.
I researched about head sizes of more than 1,300 adults, a thousand of whom were women. I asked them what were problems that they encountered when looking for hats.
Most of them told me that they are reluctant to wear hats because of the limited sizes available in stores. Others said that most hats don't fit them, or it's not comfortable, and so on.
I actually have a big head myself and I can relate to those problems. This inspired me to make customized hats.
I make them to order to fit a person's head perfectly.
Based on my research, I know what type of hat suits a person well and I can give professional advice on what type of hat would look good on each person.
I live in Kyoto which is one of the most famous cities in Japan. And did you know it is also the birthplace of Japanese movies?
I once heard from an old hat maker that people in Japan started wearing modern hats at the same time the movies were created. At that time many Japanese actors needed to wear wigs, so they had to use large sized hats to go with them.
I'm happy to work in Kyoto with this historical background about large sized hats because I run an online hat shop specialized in large sized hats.
