EARTH in capitals and ‘er’ in the lower case, stresses our Earth-first ethos, that we are responsible for the Earth, that we are irrevocably intertwined with our planet.

Founded in 2012 in the fishing village of Tai O in Hong Kong, we have taken on the persona and perspective of the traveler and have traveled the planet looking for different cultures and crafts to work with. Then through the eyes of the modern traveler, we create and craft new products in collaboration with these different cultures and craftspeople.


Put simply, through our designs and products, we bring together cultures and crafts from across time and space into this here our present moment on our planet. 

If you were to compare our designs with industrially manufactured products, you will find that we emphasize the craftsmanship of the handmade; where each piece is uniquely imprinted by the individual who made it. It is our hope that our customers come to appreciate such craftsmanship and individuality, and to come to touch the lives and the stories of those who made the product that they are now holding in their hands. And we have very consciously chosen hemp as a key medium to materialize our ideas. Inspired by and drawing on the 8000 years of human knowledge on the uses of hemp, our designs are embodied through this extremely eco-friendly but mistakenly maligned material, and refuse to use the overly praised toxic synthetic.


Just as important or even more so, we would wish that our customers come to understand and respect the source of our methods and materials, from nature. For us, our products must embody this ethos, the intimate interrelationship between man and nature.
